Antelope Valley School District

MTSS

The EHS MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) team works with students dealing with BOTH academic and socio-economic struggles. We are a team of teachers, counselors, and administrators - all dedicated to student success and wellness.

We monitor attendance, academic failure, and teacher input to capture a full view/perspective of students needing immediate help. We coordinate resources to help students who experience social-emotional struggles including anxiety and depression by partnering with our site and community mental health services.

We train teachers by utilizing ready to use core value lessons (ROAR) to facilitate and build students who have positive traits that are transferable to college and career spaces.

ROAR stands for Respect, Overcoming obstacles, Aspiring, and Rising to full potential.

We promote resources geared toward decreasing cyber-bullying, implicit bias, and disproportionality stemming from various causes including low test scores, negative home environment, potential barriers due to religious, ethnic, or gender related influences.

ROAR Council - Parents and Community members needed!!

Our MTSS team at Eastside HS is putting together a ROAR Council of students, staff and community members, to work together with our PBIS Tier 1 team to improve school wide student supports in the areas of academics, social emotional learning, and behavior. We want this ROAR Council to represent the diversity of our entire student and community population, rather than a subset. We are looking for nominations of parents and community members that would be able to attend regular monthly meetings during second semester and provide valuable input to improve campus student supports. Parents interested in helping us improve our EHS campus, please nominate yourself using this LINK.
